**Role Overview**

The Paralegal will provide collections and litigation support. An understanding of construction litigation and the _Lien Act _will be considered an asset. You are able to manage a diverse range of legal matters, excellent research skills, and proficient computer skills, are detail oriented, proactive, great phone etiquette efficient and have a positive attitude, then this position might be of interest to you.

A/R and consturction experience an asset.

**LEGAL**
- Research, gather and organize documents in preparation of court actions and other matters;
- Attendance in Small Claims Court and before various boards and tribunals as required;
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents;
- Instruct, provide information/documents to external law firms;
- Maintain legal data base;
- Execute and understand BCOnline searches including, PPR, corporate, BC assessment and court services; and MYLTSA including Land Title Searches;
- A good understanding of the _Lien Act_ is required;
- Review and prepare submissions in regards to WCB Orders;
- Overseer of the corporate records, both Provincial and Federal;
**COLLECTIONS**
- Review AR List once a week. Making collection calls. Correspond with customers/contractors about issues.
- Detailed notes in Outlook on customer accounting policies, current projects, disputes, etc.
- Correspond with customers on overdue invoices and incoming payment.

**Qualifications**

Paralegal diploma; Would consider an individual with combined construction/collections experience;
- Highly organized and detail oriented;
- Excellent written and oral communication, time management and multitasking skills;
- Ability to take initiative and work independently;
- Strong team player;
- Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel, BCOnline, My LTSA
