The Machine Operator is responsible for performing various tasks to set up, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The goal is to ensure that production procedures are carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
**Responsibilities**:
- Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with mínimal wasted time and materials
- Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and mínimal unplanned stops
- Start machinery and make adjustments to machinery when necessary to improve performance
- Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions
- Troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance
- Perform quality control, follow reporting and recordkeeping procedures, and report problems to supervisor
- Comply with all safety and health regulations
- Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area
- Test operation of machines periodically
- Fix issues that might occur during a shift
**Requirements**:
- Ability to left heavy equipment, to bend, and to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience
- Teamwork and communication skills
- Should be willing to work overtime hours
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Analytical skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is an asset
- Attendance must be in good standing
- Valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
- Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner
- Possesses excellent attention to detail
