As an Abatement Worker with QM LP, you will be required to perform tasks involving physical labour in an industrial setting where you will be working outside in all the elements year-round, while doing asbestos, lead and mould abatement. An example of the work you will be doing is glove bag removal on various sizes and temperatures of piping throughout the plant.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Feel comfortable working in an environment that may contain mold and/or asbestos and commit to wearing proper PPE at all times
- Have steel toe boots
- Be clean shaven and able to wear a full-face mask
- Fluent in English
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, their own and others
**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KEY COMPETENCIES**
**Education/Experience**:
- Grade 12 is an asset
- **Must have Asbestos Awareness Ticket / 2 day Alberta Asbestos Workers Certification**:
- H2S Alive
- **1 to 2 years of Asbestos/Mold Removal or construction experience preferred**:
- Having a valid Driver’s License and vehicle would be an asset
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior technicians an asset
**Abilities**:
- Able to work long hours, overtime and possible weekend work in various weather conditions
- Willing and able to work away from home for lengthy periods of time on different projects
- English language - verbal, reading and written
- Must be able to lift 25-50 Lbs.
- Be fit for work every day
- Able to wear all required PPE (hard hat, respirator, Tyvek suit, steel-toed boots)
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
