CHEO hosts several provincial and federal programs including Newborn Screening Ontario (NSO). NSO provides a comprehensive program of analysis, follow-up, education, research and development, ensuring that every newborn receives the highest quality screening and care. At NSO, we are leaders in screening through research, development, education, and innovation. The multidisciplinary team at NSO comprises dedicated clinical, laboratory, management, and administrative staff.
The Project Manager, NSO will lead projects in the areas of scope, budget adherence, time management, and communication. The Project Manager is also responsible for: quality, risk, and procurement management.
This is a temporary position, working in a hybrid environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Liaise with and establish a clear line of communication between existing NSO partners, vendors, consultants, end users, and stakeholders (i.e. Ministry of Child and Youth Services (MCYS), executive team, etc.) to effectively manage and grow NSO’s interests.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, serving as the primary point of contact for all project related activities.
- Participate in strategic and long-range planning and delivery initiatives.
- Manage the full spectrum of NSO projects, ensure alignment, document dependencies related to interactivity, and develop written scope statements to align future project decisions.
- Ensure effective change management by influencing contributing factors.
- Integrate and coordinate key project plans to create consistent, coherent documents used to guide project execution, control and, delivery.
- Identify and align project components and deliverables to formalize project approvals.
- Estimate costs, allocate to project elements, and manage changes to project budget.
- Document vendor requirements and identify potential sources. Obtain quotes, bids, offers, or proposals as appropriate.
- Identify, document, and assign project roles, responsibilities, and reporting relationships.
- Coordinate and direct the various technical and organizational interfaces.
- Manage and evaluate project resources, performance, and deliverables on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards and identify ways to eliminate causes of unsatisfactory performance.
- Ensure effective and timely communication, reporting of project phases and completion to stakeholders.
- Conduct qualitative risk management analyses to prioritize effects on project objectives.
- Create and monitor residual risks assessment, identify new risks, develop and execute risk reduction plans, and evaluate their effectiveness throughout the project life cycle.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by senior management and leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Criminal Record Check (Essential)
- Degree in a related program and/or experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance (Essential)
- Project Management Professional certification by an accredited organization (Essential)
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of related experience Project Management (Essential)
