MAINTENANCE II - PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

The purpose of the Maintenance II - Preventative Maintenance position is to provide preventative maintenance services to the system.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Inspects, maintains and repairs heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
Investigates, identifies and repairs problems such as indoor air quality and boiler inefficiencies.
Maintains, repairs and replaces all mechanical equipment related to boilers, cooling systems, air handling units and fans.
Performs preventative maintenance on all mechanical systems as directed.
Completes chemical and combustion tests on boilers, lubricate pumps and motors.
Completes gas fired domestic hot water tank annual service.
Transports chemicals in a Board vehicle to various locations.
Inventories supplies to stock department.
Identifies and makes recommendations for Supervisor’s assessment of items for normal repair and energy conservation.
Liaises with head custodians, principals and contractors in doing repairs and maintenance.
Checks, stocks and operates a board vehicle.
Maintains detailed documentation on work completed.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certificate of Qualification - Facilities Systems or Industrial Millwright or Sheet Metal Worker or Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Cooling Diploma.
Gas Technician 2 Certificate through the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) is an asset
6 months to 1 year experience.
**SPECIALIZED SKILLS REQUIRED**:
Small Water Systems Certificate is an asset.
Basic electrical knowledge is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle.
A commitment to service excellence.
