**Summary**:
The Material Handler is responsible for movement and planning of materials needed to assist the manufacturing requirements. They must perform duties of Shipping, receiving and customer service. They must work together with the other shifts as a team on their own with little to no supervision. The job does require overtime when needed to keep production running.

**Responsibilities**:

- To behave in a manner in accordance with the plant policies and procedures
- Provide support for shipping, receiving and material management
- Select, prepare, and process orders.
- Process outgoing products for shipment.
- Ensure production department has continuous supply of material, to maintain zero downtime.
- Continuously organize and verify incoming material while following FIFO procedures.
- Professionally communicate over the phone with suppliers regarding shipment of orders.
- Receive, inspect, and analyze incoming products to determine quality products.
- Provide a clean, organized, and safe warehouse.
- Log merchandise into the computer system and develop work orders.
- Prepare shipments and work together with alternate shift.
- Ensure ISO procedures such as labeling and proper documentation is prepared for shipping.
- Train and coach other employees
- Conduct tooling design and build reviews to ensure maximum performance of tooling.
- Responsible to work in an open and sharing manner so that all employees can share the knowledge production procedures.
- Work with production supervisors to coordinate production startups, shutdowns and changeovers
- Responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of raw material to meet shift production goals
- Responsible to assist quality control and quarantine incorrect materials. Make decisions as necessary during shift to help produce product within specifications.
- Responsible for requesting materials needed to perform your duties.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
- Communicate with production personnel and Shift Supervisors.
- Preform all daily safety and maintenance checks needed for Material Handling equipment. If not capable of making such a repair it must be reported to the Supervisor immediately.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area
- Assist in production as necessary
- Other duties as assigned

**Educational Requirements**
- Post-secondary education
- Must be Fluent in English
- Excellent reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
- Knowledge of manufacturing process, procedures and machinery
- Must have a valid fork lift license
- Experience with measuring tools and reading blue prints
- Experience with Microsoft Word, excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 or Equivalent

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
