AGS is looking for a Capital & Tooling Buyer to join our dynamic organization.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Corporate Procurement Manager, Steel & Special Projects, the Corporate Capital & Tooling Buyer, is responsible for the sourcing and management of all capital and tooling purchases, working as part of a cross functional team with Engineering, Quality and our manufacturing plants. You will be a major participant / leader in new business launches and continuous improvement activities related to capital and tooling. The main objective of the role is to negotiate the best deal possible whilst ensuring our suppliers provide quality goods.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain an approved supply base
- Prepare RFQ packages.
- Analyze supplier quotations through cost breakdown analysis.
- Recommend sourcing decisions based on cost, quality, delivery, and financial stability.
- Negotiate all commercial aspects of tooling purchases including payment terms
- Support on time delivery of items through participation in the PDT process.
- Work with Tooling Engineering to evaluate and develop new tooling sources.
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible
- All other duties, as assigned.

**RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT**
- Work collaboratively and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects
- Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of needed products and materials and advise others of any impact
- Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, in particular when there is a risk which could prevent the organization meeting customer demands.
- Support product change requests and review and communicate the impact on capacity plans
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all relationships

**SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES**:

- Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities
- Strong Excel skills
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Commercially and financially aware
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE LEVELS**
- Proven purchasing experience, preferably within an automotive and with capital and tooling
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of automotive processes, components and supply chain management
- Able to occasionally travel domestically and to the USA
