OverviewCommunity Inclusion Support Worker - AbbotsfordThe Community Inclusion Support Workers provide support to persons served with developmental disabilities, helping them access meaningful daytime activities in the community. This position provides guidance, support and teaching in all areas of living.ResponsibilitiesCurrent Openings:Part-Time and Casual positions availableNote: This section lists the required qualifications and attributes for candidates.QualificationsCommunity Support Worker certificate or approved equivalentPrevious Community Inclusion/behavioral support experience is an assetAbility to relate to families and caregiversAbility to relate supportively to a person with developmental disabilities and mental health issuesA philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and ValuesFamiliar with and able to implement “Spirit of Gentleness” principlesAbility to take initiative with creativityExcellent team work skills, ability to maintain Honest, Direct and Respectful relationshipsAbility to receive direction as well as ability to work independently without supervisionMust have strong ability to enforce boundaries and expectations and have strong leadership skillsAbility to model appropriate behavior (conduct, performance, concern for people, morale, compliance with program policy and procedures, work performance standards, professionalism, ethics and professional integrity, social relational skills)Good written and verbal communication skillsComfortable with computer use and able to learn new software programsUse of personal vehicle required for client appointments, etc.Possession of a valid Class 5 BC driver’s licensePossession of a valid Emergency First Aid certificate with CPRWhat you can expectShifts are: Weekdays, daytime hoursCompetitive wagesGenerous benefits package for full-time employees #J-18808-Ljbffr
