We are searching for a Food and Beverage Manager to join our Glenerin Inn team based in Mississauga, Ontario.

About the Opportunity

Provides leadership and oversight to all departmental activities to ensure compliance to policies, procedures, and applicable legislation
Outlines work assignments
Supervises, directs, and evaluates the work of the team
Oversees the full recruitment process for new members of the team
Ensures new team members are orientated and trained on all departmental standards
Provides ongoing training and education
Manages the professional development of the team
In consultation with Human Resources Department, manages team member issues
Monitors and manages performance and provides coaching
Completes performance and development discussions for team members
Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to company policy
Holds regular departmental meetings and team talks
Takes every reasonable precaution in all circumstances to ensure the health and safety of team members and all others in the workplace, including but not limited to, providing supervision, training, information, and equipment needed for employees to do their job safely
Performs other related duties as require

About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
Hotel experience in banquets overseeing weddings, social and corporate events
Experience with small restaurant dining, in-room dining, Sunday brunches
Experience overseeing and supervising a small F&B team of servers
Experience training, coaching and mentoring team members on guest service
Exceptional knowledge and adherence to four diamond hotel brand standards
Excellent attention to detail in both facilities, food, beverage, and service
Works collaboratively with the Chef and kitchen team for a seamless guest experience
Smart Serve certification for alcohol beverages
Team player who is adept in both working the floor and supervising a small team
Must be available to work weekends, evenings and statutory holidays during busy event times
Works collaboratively with the maintenance team to ensure facilities are in good working order
Familiar with POS systems (Silverware)
Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, accounting software
Knowledge of monthly beverage inventory reconciliation
