**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
As a **Locate Coordinator **you will be part of the _Utilities Department_. The _Utilities Department_ is responsible for supporting the construction operations by; performing underground utility locates, supporting and maintaining the ground disturbance program, assisting with identification of known and unknown utilities, liaising with local utility damage prevention inspectors, and helping the team with the development of record drawings.

**DISTRICT OVERVIEW**:
Kiewit's Eastern Canada District is working on heavy civil projects specializing in earth moving, transportation, roadways, bridges, water resources, and underground utilities.

**LOCATION**:
This position is based in Ottawa, for the Ottawa LRT Stage 2 Project.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform Utility locates to support the construction project
- Use Transmitter and Receiver designed to assist and verify location of underground utilities including gas, telecom, hydro, water, sewers.
- Mark utility lines with appropriate paint colours
- Interpret Ontario OneCall locate tickets and understands expiration dates
- Review and approve internal forms to support construction operations
- Participate in the development of utility composite model
- Use GPS survey equipment
- Review and approve internal ground disturbance permits to support construction operations
- Assess and modify internal utility design drawings to support construction operations.

- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Construction experiences an asset
- Previous locating experience an asset
- Microsoft suite
- Ability to distinguish colour markings

- Regular, reliable attendance
- Work productively and meet deadlines timely
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
- Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
