**Your role**

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Subscription Services, Distribution and Marketing, located in Montreal, you will develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with broadcasting distribution undertakings (BDUs) and other multi-platform distributors.

You negotiate, draft and ensure execution of distribution agreements for French and English services and content. Under strategic guidance of Senior Manager and Senior Director, you develop and implement plans, initiatives and new business opportunities to achieve established strategic objectives and revenue targets.

You are responsible for providing competitive and business analyses with respect to planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and operating activities for the Subscription services distribution department. You play an important role in retaining subscriber base, achieving revenue objectives and maximizing revenue generation.

**More specifically, your responsibilities will be as follows**:
**Affiliates Relations**:

- Manage relationships and day to day operations with BDUs accounts and ensure client satisfaction.
- Negotiate agreements terms and as well as licensing deals with BDUs for all CBC and Radio-Canada’s services and content; follows up to ensure execution according to the negotiated terms.
- Create standardized language for new contracts.
- Implement distribution strategies developed for CBC and Radio-Canada’s services and content with the objectives of securing carriage, protecting subscriber base, maximizing subscription and licensing revenues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (legal, regulatory, technical, etc.) to ensure contracts’ compliance.
- Manage authorizations and interconnection requests and ensure liaison with internal and external partners for those requests (CCSA, SRDU, etc.).
- Collaborate on business development projects.
- Support Leadership in certain Affiliates Relations files.

**Business Analysis and Reporting**:

- Review, forecast, model and track subscriber trends and revenue growth. Provide analyses taking into account environmental factors and industry knowledge.
- Manage BDU audit process. Negotiate audit settlement with the BDUs.
- Provide business intelligence, competitive and market analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions, including (i) for the proper use of the marks on partner and BDU platforms (ii) for competitive practices.

**Communications and Marketing**:

- Maintain good business relationships with the marketing departments of distribution partners to optimize collaboration.
- Identify the best timing to implement various affiliate and co-op marketing initiatives (freeviews, contests, etc.). Design, communicate (internally and externally) and ensure execution of initiatives.
- Ensure outreach of services and programs on distribution partners' platforms to increase awareness, uptake and usage.
- Ensure liaison with internal stakeholders including Communications, Programming, News, Finance and Operations departments on alignment of strategic initiatives and supervises execution of affiliates marketing initiatives.
- Prepare presentations and documents to communicate subscription performance and trends, departments’ priorities, initiatives and deals at senior level.
- Represent CBC/Radio-Canada in BDU industry committees and organizations to promote the Corporation, to build business relationships and to keep abreast of the industry changes and trends.

**Contract Administration**:

- Track and generate reports on status of departments’ existing agreements.
- Ensure that all of the department's contracts and records are accurate and up to date.
- University degree in communications, management, Radio and Television Arts or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of business-to-business sales experience / account management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the television industry.
- Experience with TELCO operators such as Vidéotron, Bell, Rogers, Telus, etc. is required.
- Solid experience in negotiation required.
- Excellent analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities.
