**Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of cooks and other staff as you create and deliver nutritious and delicious meals to our residents, always adhering to Ministry and Public health guidelines.
- Prepare meals/beverages using specific sanitation and quality procedures
- Store stock appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage
- Additional duties as instructed such as assisting with all aspects of meal preparation
- Adhere to strict cleaning schedules after each meal while observing Health & Safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure correct labelling, storage, and rotation of food.
- Safely dispose of leftover food & complete kitchen closing check.
- Oversee the kitchen and dining facilities within the community including scheduling, processing orders, and budgeting for the food and kitchen equipment.
**Qualifications**
- A minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a restaurant or facility
- Current Food Handlers certificate
- Willing and able to work well within a team environment
- Experience and knowledge of serving special dietary needs and food textures
- Knowledgeable of applicable government legislation and policies including RHRA, and Infection Control
- Culinary and/or food service experience in a health care facility is an asset
- Strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and presentation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; willingness to interact with residents
- Strong customer service skills; working with an aging population providing customized support and services
**Requirements**:

- Vulnerable Sector Police Screening
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Clear immunization records including recent TB testing and Covid-19 vaccination
- Available to work shifts that will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
**Working Conditions**
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs independently
