Formwork Carpenter

Position Summary
- The carpenter is the backbone of DC Forming, responsible for all building on the construction site. Organizing materials, apprentices, and labourers, and their tools, on a daily basis. Utilizing their knowledge and skill as a carpenter, they will construct the project as detailed in the drawings. The Carpenter will work with the crew Foreman to maintain the construction schedule, enforce safety policy and site rules, ensure quality and accuracy of construction.

Performance objectives
- Able to build all designs found in Construction drawings within schedule.
- Produce correct and high-quality builds
- Able to work with other Carpenters and Labourers, to expedite the site progress.
- Plan work to ensure all necessary items are available; material, tools, equipment etc.
- Willing and able to do tasks below their qualification to
- Daily safety paperwork filled out correctly.
- Meeting key schedule dates for construction, ensuring progress is continual.
- Adherence to laws and company policies
- Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, and reading professional publications.

- Familiar with all styles of formwork and able to use them efficiently
- Familiar with underground parkade formwork and understands the process

Certifications
- Red seal Carpentry ticket is an asset but not a requirement

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Abbotsford, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- concrete forming: 2 years (required)
