POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our team in our Commercial division. This role involves working on tenant improvements and base building work. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented and has experience working on active commercial job sites alongside multiple trades.KEY RESPONSIBILITES

· Interpret and work from architectural, structural, and shop drawings

· Perform commercial framing (wood and light-gauge steel), formwork, and finish carpentry

· Install doors, frames, hardware, casework, millwork, and commercial fixtures

· Construct partitions, bulkheads, ceilings, and backing for mechanical/electrical systems

· Layout work accurately using lasers, levels, and measuring tools

· Coordinate work with site supervision, subcontractors, and inspectors

· Maintain productivity while meeting project schedules and quality standards

· Ensure all work complies with BC Building Code, project specifications, and contract documents

· Follow and enforce WorkSafeBC safety standards and site-specific safety plans

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site

QUALIFICATIONS

· Completion of a recognized Carpentry Apprenticeship or equivalent experience

· Red Seal Carpenter certification an asset

· 3–5+ years of commercial carpentry experience

· Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and sequencing

· Experience working on occupied buildings and/or active job sites

· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

· Proficient with commercial tools, equipment, and layout systems

· Physically able to perform manual labour in a construction environment

· Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation
