Commercial Operations Support Representative

The Commercial Operations Support Representative provides administrative, analytical, and operational support to Seaspan Ferries’ commercial team in the areas of sales, operations, revenue generation, and profitability. This role focuses on maintaining accurate reporting, supporting customer relationships, and assisting with commercial processes to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

The position works closely with the Senior Commercial Manager, Customer Service Supervisors, and Customer Service Coordinators, providing analytical insights through BI reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring accuracy in customer records and account documentation. The Commercial Operations Support Representative also contributes to special projects, prepares reports and presentations, and assists with operational coverage as required.

The role requires supporting Tier 1-4 customer activities and providing assistance for Tier 5-7 accounts under the guidance of the Senior Commercial Manager. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential, as the position involves reviewing costs and pricing structures, monitoring utilization, and helping develop solutions in collaboration with management.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 7700 Hopcott Road, Delta.**

**What you'll do**
- Maintains the logístical needs of the customer, preparing sales proposals, quotations, and supporting negotiations within approved guidelines.
- Gathers and analyze data on fleet utilization to create pricing structures, and customer utilization to support revenue generation and profitability initiatives
- Collaborate with the Operations team to align priorities, optimize sales opportunities, and support with analysis of revenue strategies.
- Maintains accurate reservation profiles and ensures market and customer utilization are monitored to provide reports and proposals to the leadership team
- Coordinates and leads customer meetings (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) to identify customer needs and provide recommendations.
- Provides administrative support for departmental budgeting and forecasting, and takes ownership of specific reporting processes (e.g., BI dashboards, forecasting).
- Prepares and maintains analytical insights through BI reports and provide recommendations to management to help optimize commercial and operational performance.
- Ensures compliance with transportation and dangerous goods requirements and acts as point of contact for assigned compliance items.
- Maintains customer records, correspondence, and account documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assists in coordinating coverage for operations when required, including taking the lead on specific shifts/projects to ensure seamless service.
- Ensures that corporate policies and standards are followed in all customer-related activities.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

**What you'll bring**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (transportation and logistics preferred; business education with transportation experience considered).
- Minimum of 7+ years’ experience in transportation, logistics, or a customer-focused administrative role.
- Direct experience in account management, customer relationship building, and commercial reporting.
- Experience working in the BC trucking industry is an asset.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with proven ability to manage customer accounts independently.
- Excellent Customer Service and Relationship building skills
- Analytical ability to interpret data, create reports, and support business decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with marine transportation or short sea shipping is an asset.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and positively across teams and departments.
- Knowledge of terminal operating systems such as TOPS is strongly preferred.
