Now Hiring: Trade Desk Specialist
**Job Description**:
The Trade Desk Specialist works on the Equities Trade Desk and provides specialized, experienced trading services and support to our equities trading, market data and technology clients in a trade floor environment, while supporting the effective operation and market quality of our core equity trading enterprise. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Canadian capital markets, where you will have the opportunity to develop your experience, build valuable relationships, and be at the center of the company’s growth.- Ensure all aspects of market quality are met as it relates to market opens, price band violations and stock halts / resumptions, through informed judgment in conjunction with relevant news, and information from various sources.- Support the effective operation of our core equity production trading enterprise.- Engaged in the business requirements, client readiness and user acceptance testing process for new equities trading corporate and operational deliverables.- This role involves providing extensive client phone support.- Key member of our equities trading contact center, supporting a wide range of clients from traders and business leaders, to back offices and technology professionals.- Educating our client base with respect to data content, interpretation of FIX and technical specifications for all products and services.- Responsible for the onboarding of all new clients, including the set-up, administration of participating organizations and technology vendors.- Support clients with their market access needs, including certifying client technology and troubleshooting requests related to session disconnects and latency.- Integral part of the delivery of all Business Continuity, Incident Management and Disaster Recovery plans.- Advocate for continuous process optimization to team work practices through client feedback and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of comparable experience in business operations, trading or technology support.- A friendly, professional demeanor and ability to excel in a trade floor / team-oriented environment.- Passionate about the client experience with a problem solving approach.- Knowledge of capital markets.- Customer service and phone skills.- Action oriented, quick to learn and grasp new technology and concepts.- Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Strong technical and analytical skills, and detail-oriented aptitude.- Ability to work over a variety of shifts, assist in weekend testing and be flexible for the team when additional coverage is needed.- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Trader Training Course is helpful.
