**Responsibilities**:
**Curriculum Development**: Design engaging and effective ESL lesson plans and curriculum that align with the Ontario Ministry of Education standards for high school students of various ages and proficiency levels. Develop materials, resources, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles and language proficiency levels.

**Instruction**:Provide high-quality instruction to international students, helping them improve their English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and language practice. Maintain accurate records.

**Assessment and Progress Monitoring**: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate students' language proficiency and track their progress. Provide constructive feedback and individualized support to address areas of improvement.

**Differentiation**: Adapt teaching techniques to accommodate varying levels of English language proficiency within the classroom. Implement strategies to support students with different learning needs and language backgrounds.

**Cultural Sensitivity**:Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, creating a classroom environment that values and respects students' diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

**Collaboration**: Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and areas for improvement.

**Professional Development**:Stay updated on the latest developments in ESL teaching methodologies, language acquisition research, and Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines. Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training sessions to continuously enhance teaching skills.

**Classroom Management**: Establish and maintain learning procedures and routines that promote a focused and respectful learning environment. Handle disciplinary issues professionally and fairly, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching ESL to high school students, especially international students.
- Familiarity with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum standards and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in using technology for instructional purposes.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to design engaging lesson plans and learning materials.
