It provides mental health services, employment programs, emergency shelter, community, health and housing services, and justice programs to youth in the Ottawa area, serving between 2,500 and 3,000 at‑risk individuals aged 12+ and their families every month. YSB employs 350 caring professionals in a unionized environment in over 26 locations across Ottawa. The Bridges - Passerelles program is a partnership between the YSB, The CHEO, OPH and The Royal and provides a "step down" support for youth transitioning from inpatient care and a "step up" support for youth at imminent risk presenting in emergency or accessing YSB crisis services and may not require hospitalization. It is an intensive and integrated short-term community-based service that provides clinical intervention and skill building for youths (13-17 years), and their caregivers, with complex mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, self-harm/suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation, eating disorder symptoms and psychosis. Under the general direction of the Director of Mental Health Services and the immediate supervision of the Bridges Program Coordinator, the Youth and Family Counsellor is responsible for the provision of case management, intake and psychotherapy services to youth and families in accordance with the policies and directives established by the YSB and its partnering agencies. **What you will do**: - Deliver intensive individual, family and group counselling, crisis management, intake and assessment services to clients as established by the Bridges interdisciplinary team and program demands. - Perform case management functions which may include using an integrated plan of care process. - Administer approved screening tools with clients. - Support clients and their caregivers to identify counselling goals and strategies for goal achievement. - Utilize recognized interventions to support client in the achievement of established goals. - Advocate with and on behalf of clients as required. - Attend and participate in supervision and clinical group supervisions. - Participate in training to ensure ongoing development of skills and abilities - including YSB required training. - Ensure that the electronic client file remains current within established guidelines, policies and procedures. - Meet standards defined in The Bridges Program Procedural Manual / Policy and Procedures Manual. - Contribute to program and services development and evaluation. - Ensure timely submission of all administrative work in accordance with CRPO/OCSWSSW and YSB best practices. - Collaborate and network with community agencies as appropriate and as requested. - Ensure familiarity with all pertinent legislation. - Follow safe work practices as established by the YSB and the Bridges program. **This opportunity may be right fit for you if you have**: - (The qualifications are appended to the job description and are not intended to be part of the job description)_ - Master’s Degree in Social Work/Counselling Psychology or relevant field is essential. - Membership in good standing with a college authorized to practise Psychotherapy; RP’s grand-parented into CRPO will be considered - Minimum two years related experience in providing individual, family and group counselling services to youth and their families and case management. - Exposure to working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression and emotional dysregulation - Experience delivering family-based counselling services using a client-centred and collaborative approach and a systemic perspective. - Knowledge of recognized therapeutic approaches including MI, CBT, DBT and trauma-informed - Capacity to work using a DBT approach will be considered a significant asset - Demonstrated ability to assess need for multidisciplinary support or other resources - Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills both autonomously and in a context of an interdisciplinary team - Oral and written fluency in English is essential - Oral and written fluency in French is essential - Availability and ability to work evenings, flexible hours. - Flexibility and comfortability in working at various locations which may involve local travel - Demonstrated computer skills - Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle **_ Disclaimer:_**
