**Shop Technician I (MX General) (6 Month Contract)**
**Primary Role Focus**
Ensure the department completes daily tasks in a safe and timely manner while maintaining quality standards.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Follow all Packers Plus policies and procedures
- Perform day-to-day tasks with team
- Communicate delayed completion of Projects and Tasks to Team Lead, with suggested options to resolve
- Partner with Team Lead and Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) for documentation of incidents or safety concerns
- Report Non-conformance (NCRs) concerns to the Technician II or Team Lead
- Monitor shop equipment & ensure completion of all preventative maintenance and inspections
- Ensure compliance with Packers Plus Health and Safety Program
- Sustainment and continuous improvement of Packers Plus Way (PPW)
- Assist other departments as requested
- Perform daily shop cleaning
- Attend daily department meetings for communication of the day’s activities, safety updates, and awareness

**Position Requirements**
**Experience and Skills**
- Mechanical aptitude
- Beginner proficiency with computers (Microsoft Office Suite is an asset)
- Fluent in English (read/write/speak)
- Experience working in a shop is an asset
- Knowledge of tool assembly and functionality is an asset
- Warehouse experience is an asset
- Shipping/ Receiving experience is an asset

**Education and Training**
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

**Physical and Safety Requirements**
- Subject to post-incident and reasonable-suspicion drug & alcohol testing
- Lifting/carrying up to 50lbs
- Extended periods of standing & walking
- Occasional use of computer monitor, keyboard, & mouse
