Overview:
We are currently seeking a
**Mechanical Production Operator** for our Richmond Cement Plant operations, the Mehchanical Production Operator will responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment used in the production process. The role is to ensure efficient and safe operation of the production line, meeting quality and productivity targets.
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with team members to ensure a safe workplace, as well as taking initiative and acting on any unsafe acts or conditions.
- Understand and adhere to all quality related SOP’s (samples testing and frequency, emergency release, when to fringe, etc )
- Perform 1st level inspection of various shops once a shift using guidelines provided.
- Perform housekeeping activities in the field as per a cleanup checklist provided.
- Utilize various technical plant information systems to provide information and issues during shift.
- Conduct industrial housekeeping such as cleaning up spills and keeping equipment in an operable state.
- Employee will need to be able to operate heavy mobile equipment and other production equipment.
- Will need to work with the production team to clear operational blockage and resolve other issues.
- Do general maintenance, including lubrication, troubleshooting with shift supervisor
- Repair the plant equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals for assigned jobs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out components. Report any major maintenance or repair needs to the maintenance department.
- Monitor the production process, including machine operation, to identify any issues or deviations from the standard operating procedures. Conduct regular inspections of machines and equipment to detect and resolve any malfunctions or defects.
- Operate various types of machinery and equipment used in the production process, such as manufacturing machines, assembly line equipment, and automated systems. Follow operating procedures and safety guidelines to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson status
- Minimum 2 years heavy manufacturing/mining experience
- Preference to dual ticketed
- Demonstrated safety leadership and good housekeeping practices
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and troubleshooting skills required
- Proficient use of Word, Excel, document databases and instrument software
- Able to work independently or with a team
- First Aid Certificate desirable
**REASONING ABILITY**
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to high level humidity in a controlled laboratory environment. When required the employee could be exposed to the various environmental conditions consistent with an industrial cement plant.
