Director of Admission, Marketing and Communications

The Director of Admission is responsible for student enrolment at Waldorf Academy and Childcare. The Director of Admission will design and implement a strategy to recruit and retain students leading to full enrollment in all grades at Waldorf Academy. This position is the first point of contact for prospective families, engaging and guiding them through the enrollment process. The Director of Admission is responsible to generate interest in the school through the design and implementation of marketing and outreach programs. The Director of Admission will build community and participate in the life of the school.
Essential Job Duties:
- Set enrollment goals with the School Director and in alignment with the strategic plan.
- Develop and execute a marketing and enrollment plan including budgeting and tracking.
- Manage all areas of enrollment including admissions and retention
- Develop and maintain website and social media campaigns
- Edit and promote the school through the Windows into Waldorf newsletter
- Publicize and promote all school events via printed or electronic media
- Create marketing materials such as brochures, flyers, posters, etc.
- Collect and coordinate material for school displays for outreach
- Track marketing and outreach performance
- Report monthly to the School Director
- Coordinate teachers and staff participation in marketing events
- Other duties as assigned.
Admissions:
- Work with Finance department and Academic leadership to on-board new students and families
- Arrange and schedule school tours and interviews as appropriate.
- Arrange Open House events and visiting days for students
- Bring recommendations for admissions to the Director and Pedagogical Lead
- Create and send enrollment contracts
Retention:
- Engage the current community to encourage re-enrollment.
- Maintain and update enrollment projections
- Participate on the Tuition Assistance Committee
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews to identify attrition patterns and communicate findings to Director, faculty and administration
- Plan, oversee, and coordinate staff and volunteers for enrollment events such as open houses, visiting days, etc
- Attend weekly faculty meeting and various school meetings as needed
- Serve on school and Board committees as required.
Qualifications Required Skills & Experience:
- Five years experience in the Admission and Marketing field.
- Experience in Waldorf or Academic institutions is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of principles of effective public relations and interrelationships with community groups, private and public agencies, parents and the general public
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form, as well as the ability to promote the school and its mission creatively and effectively while inspiring enthusiasm in prospective families
- Event planning experience on a large and small scale
- The ability to deal with people with tact, courtesy, and confidentiality
- Occasional evenings and weekends required.
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to change gears quickly
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 5 years experience
- Knowledge of Waldorf school philosophy, including administrative and educational principles, techniques and methods an asset.
Employment Details:
This is a full time, salaried position.
Waldorf Academy offers health insurance benefits and participation in a retirement program.
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
