**The Role**

You will liaise closely with clients, fund managers, actuaries, and other investment colleagues and take responsibility for managing and delivering investment strategy assignments (supported by other consultants and investment analysts as appropriate). You will also build customized portfolio simulations and asset allocation models and support the training and career development of junior team members.

**The Responsibilities**

**Clients**
- Develop and deliver superior, consistent advice and solutions for OCIO and advisory clients
- Collaborate as a key member of Portfolio Management Group, working with colleagues specializing in portfolio management, operations, client service and actuarial consulting
- Serve as the day-to-day strategy lead, ensuring the progress against established objectives, budgets (as applicable), timelines, deliverables and quality standards
- Engage with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues
- Contribute to the development and deployment of first-class solutions in relation to the design, implementation and monitoring of investment strategies based on the Total Portfolio Approach and liability driven investing techniques, including the use of derivative instruments
- Participate on technical sub-committee of the Global Portfolio Management Group that is focused on Strategy
- Perform technical check of work
- Participate in special projects as needed
- Contribute to the development of new tools and approaches

**Financial**
- Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team
- Manage quality of processes and deliverables in an efficient manner

**People**
- Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
- Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
- Serve as mentor to junior team members

**The Requirements**
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in the pension or investment industries (i.e., consulting, actuarial, investment management or plan sponsor community)
- Experience with liability-driven investing techniques and tools, including:

- Understanding of market returns to determine assumptions for future path of cash rates and bond yields
- Simulate and analyze yield curves, credit spreads and discount rates, provide insight on duration/time horizons and risk premia
- Reflect short and long terms views of the Investment Assumptions Committee for LDI modelling
- Knowledge and experience in defined benefit pension plan funding and accounting
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget
- Enquiring and analytically minded with a logical and thorough work ethic
- Track record of mentoring junior colleagues to deliver high quality work
- Undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Economics or Business Administration, along with relevant professional qualifications such as CFA, FCIA/FSA or equivalent
