Retail Sales Associate

**Position Overview**: We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Retail Furniture Store Sales Associate to join our small but thriving furniture store. As a Sales Associate, you will play a key role in providing exceptional service to our customers, assisting them in finding the perfect furniture pieces to meet their needs and preferences. Your friendly demeanor, product knowledge, and sales expertise will contribute to the overall success of our store and ensure a positive shopping experience for our valued customers.
- You will be required to work at 2 different locations (both in Hamilton), so you should have some sort of transport.
- **Pay**:You'll get $16.00/hour + 1.5% commission *

**Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Assistance**: Greet customers warmly, listen attentively to their furniture needs, and provide expert advice and recommendations to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
- **Sales Generation**: Proactively engage customers on the sales floor, promoting products, features, and benefits, while striving to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the store's profitability.
- **Product Knowledge**: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our furniture products, including their features, materials, pricing, and availability, in order to assist customers effectively and answer their inquiries.
- **Showroom Maintenance**: Maintain a neat and visually appealing showroom by arranging furniture displays, ensuring products are properly tagged and labeled, and keeping the sales floor clean and organized at all times.
- **Order Processing**: Assist customers with placing orders, process transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system, and arrange for delivery or pickup as per customer preferences.
- **After-Sales Support**: Provide exceptional customer service after the sale by addressing any inquiries, resolving issues or concerns, coordinating product repairs or replacements, and maintaining ongoing relationships with customers.
- **Inventory Management**: Collaborate with the store manager to monitor inventory levels, update stock records, and participate in periodic inventory counts to ensure accurate product availability information.
- **Store Policies and Procedures**: Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to customer service, sales processes, merchandise handling, safety, and security.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Prior retail sales experience, preferably in a furniture or home decor setting, is advantageous but not required. Freshers with a passion for sales and a keen interest in furniture are encouraged to apply.
- **Product Knowledge**: Familiarity with furniture styles, materials, and construction techniques is beneficial. Willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends and product offerings is essential.
- **Customer Service Skills**:Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage customers, actively listen to their needs, and provide exceptional service that exceeds their expectations.
- **Sales Ability**:Proven ability to drive sales and meet or exceed targets. Confidence in approaching customers, identifying sales opportunities, and closing deals with a consultative selling approach.
- **Organization and Attention to Detail**:Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced retail environment.
- **Team Player**: Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, take direction from superiors, and contribute to the overall success of the store by fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- **Flexibility**: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings, to meet the needs of the store and accommodate customer preferences.
- **Physical Stamina**: Capability to stand, walk, and lift furniture items for extended periods, as well as move and rearrange showroom displays as necessary.
