In Room Dining Server

The In Room Dining Server is a key member of the Front of House Team. They are responsible for opening/closing the In Room dining section, organizing, delivering orders to guest rooms, and retrieving equipment. They work closely with all other front and back of house teams to provide an extraordinary guest experience.

**Key Accountabilities**:
- Comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all menu items, preparation method, ingredients, sauces, preparation time, garnishes, presentation and prices.
- Check cleanliness and condition of all equipment for use in Room Service area, rectify any deficiencies.
- Retrieve all food orders from kitchen and place on table/tray.
- Transport tables/trays from Room Service area to guest rooms, ensuring all standards of food presentation are maintained and that no spillage occurs.
- Enter the guest room and place the table/tray by following the established departmental procedures.
- Open and serve wine/champagne bottles.
- Maintain complete knowledge and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Present check to guest for signature/payment. Adhere to all payment procedures established by Accounting.
- Expertly navigate guest room and property layout.
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Be familiar with all Hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
- Complete opening/closing checklist daily.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all service areas, guest rooms and guest corridors.
- Clean and reset tables/trays, maintaining sufficient supply in the In room Dining area.
- Collect and report tips at the end of the assigned shift.
- Embody a great service culture and create a high level of service standards and excellence.
- Handle sensitive issues with guests with tact, respect, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
**What we would like you to bring to the position**:
- 3+ years serving experience
- Smart Serve Certification
- WHMIS Certification (training provided)
- **Knowledge**:Experience with Micros POS system preferred. In-depth knowledge of wine beneficial.
- **Adaptability**: Ability to remain poised and professional in a fast-paced environment and positively interact with a variety of diverse guests and team members.
- **Personable**: Build strong relationships with guests, getting to know repeat guests and customizing their experience. Build strong working relationships with coworkers - both managers and direct reports.
- **Multi-tasking**:Ability to manage multiple customers and tables at a time, ensuring all guests receive proper meals and drink orders as requested.
- **Communication**: Listen attentively to customer requests and effectively relay those needs/requests to kitchen, bar, or managers as needed. Listen attentively to note any guest allergies and ensure to notify appropriate persons.
