**Job Title: Machinist**

**Department: Production**

**Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday**

**Job Summary**

The Machinist is responsible to machine parts to specifications working on lathes, milling machines, shapers and grinders.

**Responsibilities**:

- Read blueprints, identify the specifications that a part must meet, setup and maintain equipment, position parts in the appropriate manner, attach materials together and test parts.
- Support CNC operation
- Report issues / NCRs and provide solutions with technical supervisors
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and vernier calipers.
- Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Confer with engineering, supervisor, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information
- Other duties as assigned

**Academic/Educational Requirements**:

- Completion of High School or Apprenticeship program

**Required Skills/Experience**:

- 1-3 years Machining experience
- Excellent communication, problem solving, decision making, team building and people skills
- Hardworking and reliable
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices

**Working Conditions**:Dusty and noisy metal shop environment
