**Job Description**:
To assist with the provision of patient care and the efficient operation of the unit/area under the direction of a health care professional.

**Education**:
I. Completed a recognized program for personal support worker
II. Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life support or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hiring
III. Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) is an asset

**Experience**:
I. Previous patient care experience in health care environment or health related community work, preferred
**Competencies**:
I. Able to discern relevant information to make effective judgments and decisions to manage care
II. Great Customer Service
III. Take Initiative
IV. Commitment to Life Long Learning
V. Outstanding Communication with team members, patients and families
VI. Demonstrates excellent written and verbal English skills
VII. Ability to speak a second language, an asset
VIII. Able to prioritize and organize assigned tasks
IX. Able to learn new tasks quickly
X. Functions as an integral member of the health care team
XI. Basic Computer skills
