To assist with the provision of patient care and the efficient operation of the unit/area under the direction of a health care professional. Education: Completed a recognized program for personal support worker Current Basic Rescuer Certificate in Basic Cardiac Life support or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hiring Member of the Ontario Personal Support Worker Association (OPSWA) and/or Personal Support Network of Ontario (PSNO) an asset Experience: Previous patient care experience in health care environment or health related community work, preferred Competencies: Able to discern relevant information to make effective judgments and decisions to manage care Great Customer Service Take Initiative Commitment to Life Long Learning Outstanding Communication with team members, patients and families Demonstrates excellent written and verbal skills Ability to speak a second language, an asset Able to prioritize and organize assigned tasks Able to learn new tasks quickly Functions as an integral member of the health care team Basic Computer skills Equity & Inclusion RVH is committed to recruitment and selection practices anchored in principles of equity and inclusion that contribute to an anti-oppressive, respectful, and culturally safe workplace.
