**The opportunity**:
The **Industrial Roving Energy Manager** **(Roving)** is a professional engineer who is responsible for managing and optimizing energy usage and consumption in industrial settings across multiple locations or sites. The specific duties of an industrial roving energy manager may vary depending on the specific needs of the plant, organization, or site served. Reporting to the EfficiencyOne Senior Energy Manager (Industrial Lead), the REM will provide technical support to Industrial clients which will involve visits to plant locations to work with their respective plant energy managers, facilities staff, engineering, production teams, and management to promote energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
- Responsible for developing and implementing energy management strategies to drive efficiency and cost-savings across multiple industrial sites.
- Responsible for analyzing and optimizing energy usage and consumption, using data and metrics to inform decision-making.
- Responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities for energy efficiency and sustainability improvements in industrial settings.
- Responsible for developing and implementing energy audits and assessments to identify opportunities for improvement in industrial processes and systems.
- Responsible for overseeing the implementation of energy management projects, including selecting and managing contractors and vendors.
- Responsible to collaborate with site managers and other key stakeholders to develop and implement energy management plans.
- Responsible for providing training and guidance to site personnel on energy management best practices in industrial settings.
- Preparing reports and presenting findings to senior management.
- Responsible for supporting sales activities and resources from lead generation through development and implementation
- Responsible for reviewing project submittals for quality assurance, accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions.
**What Will Help You Succeed?**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and eligible to practice as a Professional Engineer in Nova Scotia or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in an energy-related role with experience developing and implementing energy management programs and/or energy savings projects
- Designation as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) would be considered an asset.
- Practical knowledge is applicable to a manufacturing environment, including knowledge of energy efficiency measures specific to production.
- Demonstrate the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical plans and specifications for facilities.
- Knowledge using energy efficiency calculation software packages such as RETScreen & MEASUR is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required.

- Develop a high-level plan for the first 90 days in your role as an IEM: and
- Be prepared to read EfficiencyOne Energy Manager service manual, business program manuals, protocols on measurement and verification, energy auditing guidelines, example reports from Senior Energy Managers, and examples of other organizations’ energy management plans. Ensuring you are familiar with both technical resources and reference material is critical to executing
