We are seeking the qualifications and expertise of a Compactor Service Technician for our operations based out of Lower Sackville, NS.
**Primary duties and responsibilities**:
General repairs to waste equipment such as compactors and balers.
Perform diagnostic checks on structure, electrical and hydraulic components.
Preventative maintenance inspections throughout Nova Scotia.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
Previous working experience on machinery, including Hydraulics or electrical an asset.
Capable to read & interpret electrical circuit drawings and mechanical blueprints to properly diagnose, repair and replace various parts and components
An acute attention to detail coupled with experience working with hand tools such as drills, grinders, wrenches, hammers, and measurement tape.
Strong verbal communication skills while maintaining professional appearance, positive attitude, and a safety-first mindset.
Comfortable working in all weather conditions year-round and wearing protective clothing while working in or near garbage, recycling, or compost material.
Welding or Millwright background would be considered an asset.
Class 5 Drivers license
