**The Position**

The position of Summer Fun Program Team Lead is an opportunity to connect with the Nation’s children (ages 5 -11) in a recreational and educational manner and provide positive mentorship to them, as well as mentorship and guidance to the youth employees in the program. This position will be under the management of the Wellness Centre Manager and Wellness Centre Program Supervisor, and the general guidance of the Child Wellness Coordinator. The Summer Fun Program Team Lead will be the primary contact point for their respective participant cohort.

**The position is from June 23, 2025 - August 29, 2025. Hours are from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (Monday - Friday).**
- Collaborate directly with the Child Wellness (Summer Fun Program) Supervisor and Child Program Coordinator on activity plans and participant guidelines.
- Provide leadership on guiding program safety plans in their participant cohort, including Incident Reporting.
- Collaborate with Wellness Program Supervisor and Child Program Coordinator for summer program youth employees, including understanding goals, needs, and abilities of youth employees to provide guidance & mentorship.
- Provide direct service programming to children ages 5-11 in the Summer Fun program, including leading the team on activity facilitation.
- Provide leadership on program structure, including leading daily agendas.
- Provide leadership to other youth employees to ensure supplies and gear for the Summer Fun program are organized for each activity.
- Be a caring mentor to the children and other youth employees in the summer programming. This means listening to their needs, supporting them to complete activities, and following safety measures.
- Communicate with the Summer Fun program team about any feedback, concerns, or requests for support every week.
- Attend team meetings as requested. Attend training as it relates to the position.
- Perform all other tasks within the scope of the position.

**Qualifications, Skills and Abilities**:

- Minimum age requirement at the time of intake is 16 years.
- Must be willing and able to pass a criminal record check.
- First Aid Certification.
- Experience working with children in a recreation or education setting, or previous Summer Fun experience, is an asset.
- Experience leading and facilitating child/youth programs is an asset.
