Eggcetra, a popular restaurant in Guelph for 22 years, is looking for dedicated, hardworking, self-motivated, and qualified baristas for both full-time and part-time positions. Located near the intersection of Victoria and York Roads, Eggcetra is a highly-rated, busy restaurant that serves delicious breakfasts and lunches in a casual, friendly atmosphere.

In addition to our breakfast and lunch options, Eggcetra also offers specialty coffees, fresh juices, smoothies, shakes, and a variety of alcoholic beverages, including mimosas, Bloody Marys, Caesars, and beers.

**Job Type**: Baristas - full-time and part-time positions.

**Hours**: No late nights working at a restaurant You’ll have some time to enjoy life outside of work. The restaurant operates six days a week, from Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (the last seating for customers). Most employees start their shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and finish around 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.

**Reporting Relationship**:Baristas report directly to the front-of-house manager or the owner.

**Qualifications, Requirements, and Characteristics**:

**Availability and flexibility to work during peak hours**, especially on weekends and statutory holidays.

**Flexibility and adaptability**, capable of adjusting to fluctuating demands or changes throughout the workday.

**Experience and expertise** in preparing specialty coffee drinks, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and other coffee-based beverages, with a strong focus on quality.

**Knowledge of beverages beyond coffee**, including fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies, shakes, and alcoholic drinks, such as how to make great mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Caesars.

**Exceptional customer service skills** include the ability to engage customers, make recommendations, and ensure a positive experience in the bar area.

**Experience assembling take-out orders** for customers and working with third-party food delivery services (e.g., UBER, Skip the Dishes, etc.).

**Knowledge of proper handling of alcohol** and the ability to serve alcoholic beverages responsibly. Smart Serve certification is an asset.

**License/Certification**: Before starting work at Eggcetra, baristas MUST HAVE a valid and active Smart Serve Ontario certification or be willing to complete the free online training offered by the Ontario government BEFORE beginning employment.

**Develop a strong working knowledge of the restaurant's menu** and the ability to make recommendations or answer questions for guests.

**Team-oriented**, you work well with management, kitchen staff, hostesses/hosts, servers, and other baristas.

**Strong multitasking abilities** with an ability to stay organized and efficient during busy shifts.

**Strong communication skills** combined with a friendly, approachable personality to engage with customers and coworkers.

**Ability to work efficiently under pressure**, especially during busy times, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.

**Good cleaning and organizational skills** are essential for maintaining a clean and well-organized bar area, including all related equipment, the water station, supplies, and glassware. It is also important to follow food handling, health, and safety protocols. The barista will also be responsible for assisting staff with various tasks, both before and after the restaurant's opening and closing.

**Team player**, collaborating effectively with management, servers, other baristas, and kitchen staff.

**Professional grooming and hygiene practices** to meet restaurant standards. Eggcetra-branded T-shirts and sweatshirts are required, in accordance with the restaurant's dress code policies and practices.
