**Role**: Sr Hadoop Admin
**Location**: Toronto

Contract

**Summary**:

- Looking for an experienced Sr. Hadoop Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure Hadoop clusters.
- Support data analytics, BI, and infrastructure with cross-functional collaboration.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install, configure, and maintain Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Pig, Spark, HBase, Kafka, ZooKeeper).
- Monitor performance, optimize clusters, manage capacity and scaling.
- Implement security (Kerberos, Ranger, Sentry), backup/recovery.
- Troubleshoot, automate tasks (Shell, Python), support data teams.
- Document procedures, participate in on-call support.

**Skills & Tools**:

- **OS**: Linux (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- **Hadoop Stack**: Cloudera/Hortonworks, HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark, HBase, Kafka
- **Scripting**: Bash, Python, Perl
- **Security**: Kerberos, Ranger
- **Monitoring**: Cloudera Manager, Ambari, ELK, Splunk
- **Version Control**: Git
- **Other**: Networking, troubleshooting, automation

**Certifications (preferred)**:

- CCAH, HCA, MCHA

**Nice to Have**:

- Azure, ADF, Databricks, Snowflake
- Docker, Kubernetes, MongoDB, Cassandra
- Agile, data governance/quality

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s in CS/IT
- 7+ years Hadoop admin experience
- Strong communication, ownership, adaptability

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract

Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Hadoop: 5 years (required)
- Kafka: 5 years (required)
- Yarn: 6 years (required)
