Civil Tech Asphalt and Granular Quality Control

**Job description**
Cornwall Gravel is looking to hire a hardworking quality control technician with a good eye for detail. This position will be responsible for performing aggregate and asphalt sampling and testing both in the field and laboratory setting for quality control checks to ensure they meet the required specifications.
**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct on-site inspection and testing of aggregate and asphalt using Troxler nuclear gauges for compaction.
- Complete accurate and concise data gathering for a variety of tests in a manner suitable for efficient data entry of test results to produce a final report.
- Sample and carry out laboratory tests on aggregate, and asphalt.
- Complete prompt and accurate testing and reporting of results.
- Equipment calibration, maintenance and general housekeeping requirements to maintain a safe working environment in the laboratory.
- Interact with office administrative and professional staff, lab and field technicians, field foreman and labourers, as well as with some clients.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Two/three year college diploma in civil engineering technology or related discipline.
- 1+ years of experience.
- Ability to lift 25kg test samples.
- Experience and knowledge in civil construction lab / field processes is considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication in English, with effective interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently, and contribute in a team environment.
- Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
- Strong organizational skills, time management and ability to prioritize.
- Strong work ethic and desire to succeed.
- A vehicle with a valid Class G license.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
