The Specialist in Strategy, Engagement, Risk, and Project Management drives Queensway Carleton Hospital’s strategic initiatives by supporting effective planning, risk assessment, and project execution. In alignment with the hospital’s mission to provide exemplary care, this role focuses on advancing organizational goals through comprehensive strategic analysis, proactive risk management, and structured project methodologies.

The Specialist will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure projects align with strategic priorities, adhere to timelines, and achieve measurable outcomes that benefit patient care and operational efficiency. This role is essential for fostering a resilient, forward-thinking approach to healthcare delivery, enabling Queensway Carleton Hospital to meet present challenges and future demands effectively.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support hospital leadership in developing, implementing, and monitoring strategic plans that align with organizational goals. Conduct analysis to assess progress toward strategic goals and identify areas for improvement or adjustment. Support executive leadership with data interpretation and scenario planning to enhance decision-making.
- Lead and manage key projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Develop detailed project plans, set milestones, and coordinate resources across departments to ensure project success.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks that could impact hospital operations or strategic initiatives, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies to minimize adverse effects. Monitor and report on risk factors, maintaining a risk register to inform leadership of potential challenges and mitigation measures.
- Develop standardized tools and resources to support project management activities across the organization and support onboarding and learning of tools and processes, including workshops on project management and risk management principles. Ensure projects and risk management practices comply with regulatory standards and healthcare industry requirements.
- Design and implement surveys, focus groups, and listening sessions to gather employee feedback on strategic projects and risk management plans.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Undergraduate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or risk management within a healthcare setting or similarly complex environment.

**SKILLS REQUIREMENTS**
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and quality improvement practices.
- Proven experience in managing complex projects from initiation to completion, including stakeholder communication, budgeting, and timeline management.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct risk assessments, develop risk mitigation plans, and monitor ongoing risks in a healthcare or comparable context.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, or similar) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).

**PREFERRED**
- Master's Degree in a relevant field (such as Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Project Management)
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
- Risk Management Certification (e.g., Certified Risk Management Professional)
- Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
