**Opportunity**:
MacEwan University is seeking a Custodian for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Custodial Department.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors across the university campus.

Key responsibilities include:

- Cleaning: including windows, light fixtures, entrance matting, and floors;
- Vacuuming and steam cleaning carpets;
- Disinfecting washrooms, showers and locker rooms;
- Dusting all ledges and waxing floors;
- Re-arranging and lifting furniture;
- Collecting waste and recycling from all areas and disposing of it properly;
- Replacing paper products and sanitizers;
- Reporting all significant incidents to Security Services;
- Removing snow at entrances; and
- Setting up classrooms.

**SKILLS**:
You will have:

- The ability to operate custodial equipment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- The ability to perform physically demanding work; and
- Proven knowledge of safe chemical handling practices.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum completion of Grade 10 education.
- WHMIS certification.
- Minimum of three years of experience with cleaning in a similar type setting.
- A Building Service Worker Certificate is an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
