Position Summary
- The Labourer is responsible for providing a safe, clean exterior environment, performing interior general maintenance, through AMMS, of the facility as required, and performing relocations of personnel, as authorized by the Director.
- Performing a variety of duties in and around buildings and grounds of the hospital

complex.
- Assisting licensed journeymen in completing their tasks, as coordinated by Manager.
- Working on the grounds including: mowing and raking leaves.
- Walkway and sidewalk maintenance.
- Identifying potential safety hazards around the property while performing duties
- Cleaning, lubricating, and storing maintenance tools and equipment.
- Prioritizing work orders assigned within the Facility
- Working independently with departmental leads to coordinate relocation and decanting of

services
- Assist in internal construction renovation projects
- Knowledgeable in the use of power and battery-operated tools
- Estimating material requirement and costs and preparing requisitions.
- Completing work orders and the associated reporting documents.
- Providing call-back services as required by the hospital.

**Qualifications**:

- Completion of grade 12 diploma required.
- General mechanical aptitude is required
- Demonstrated strong resourcefulness and excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated capability of learning routine, organized activities when doing minor repairs on machinery and/or facilities.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a variety of activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work under close supervision when working with skilled journeymen
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated emotional stability, maturity, self-confidence, reliability, dependability, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions and accept supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to sustain pressure of work and flexibility in ordering/re-ordering priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and operational maintenance manuals.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize, and complete work.
