Job description

Yum Bakery, in the Calgary Farmers' Market is seeking experienced bakers who genuinely enjoy the art of making artisan breads and a variety of baked goods.

A passion for authentic artisan baking is a must and prior experience working in a high-volume artisan bakery preferred. Our bakery emphasizes efficiency, fast paced, and extremely focused working hours that encourages a drama-free, fun working environment.

You will have experience in making breads from scratch, working with sourdough, hand moulding, and slow fermentation. The experience is considered an asset in addition to our extensive on-site training that we will provide.

If you do not have the above qualifications or similar experience we will not be contacting you.

The baker’s responsibility is allocated towards day to day bread production and working as a team member to ensure the quality of all our products are maintained. You will be concentrating on dough & bread-oriented tasks.

We encourage you to bring your creativity to the bakery as part of our team.
- Must be comfortable working with your hands and machines
- Must be self-motivated and work independently, good communication skills
- Must be able to produce consistent high quality efficiently and quickly
- Keep work area clean & organized
- Required to lift 50 lbs
- Required to work on weekends.
- Early morning start times (4am or earlier during busy times)
- Good work ethic
- Pay commensurate with experience
- Vehicle is an asset as location is hard to get to by public transit.
