**Job Summary**:
Provide customer centred, inclusive quality child care in a safe, nurturing, developmental appropriate program for children.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Plans and develops inquiry based learning under the leadership of the supervisor and ensures programming aligns with How does Learning Happen? and highlights child learning through documentation.
- Able to effectively use Authentic Assessment of children and understands the importance of documentation.
- Prepares, maintains, and supervises classroom and playground activities.
- Collaborates with Resource Consultants in regards to the planning and implementation of programs and activities for children with special needs.
- Communicates with supervisor and staff on pertinent information concerning children and their families.
- Listens, responds, and provides guidance to families, supply staff, students and volunteers in program planning, child care, and community resources.
- Utilizes service coordination with customers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Attends regular staff and team meetings
- Participates in student evaluations, parent/teacher interviews and prepares children’s progress reports as required.
- Participates and supports centre with the Quality First Initiative.
- Performs housekeeping duties as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized community college.
- Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
- Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act.
- Understanding of Family Centred Practice.

**Preferred**
- Experience working with children with developmental delays.
- Knowledge of Assessment tools.
- French and/or additional languages.
- Computer literacy.

- Travel between locations within Halton Region.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
