Facilities and Maintenance Technician

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the **Facilities & Maintenance Technician **will work with both the maintenance and production teams. You will be ensuring the site is prepared and ready prior to the start of production each day as well as the general maintenance around the facility. You will also be required to use a variety of machinery and tools while assisting both our production and construction teams.

**Some of your responsibilities may look like this,**
- maintain a safe and clean work environment; ensure both sites meet all safety regulations
- Prepare sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards (ie. general site maintenance, snow removal, etc)
- Assist with loading shipments and/or unloading materials to site
- Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws and tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials
- Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
- Work with multiple subtrades and contractors on Preventative Maintenance
- Daily Pre-Use equipment checks
- Operate farm equipment once safety checks are completed and adequate
- Filter changes on HVAC equipment
- Operate & repair potting equipment
- Reset after a power outage
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Highschool Diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Possess a valid driver license
- Forklift Certification an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to comfortably lift 50lbs
- Ability to work shifts as required to meet production readiness and business requirements
- Punctual, reliable, flexible and adaptable to changing business needs

- 8 hour shift

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- facilities and maintenance technician: 1 year (preferred)
