Richmond Building Supplies (RBS) is a leading supplier of building materials including interior and exterior pre-hung doors, moulding, locks, lumber, siding etc. We serve professional home contractors and renovators who trust our expertise to reliably source and supply products required to frame and finish homes throughout the Lower Mainland.

This shipper / receiver and inventory control position is responsible for (i) coordinating and scheduling outgoing shipments to building construction sites, (ii) receiving incoming shipments of door slabs, and (iii) controlling and monitoring inventory levels of lumber, moulding and construction hardware. Knowledge of building products would be advantageous.

Duties include:

- Efficiently grouping and scheduling daily deliveries throughout the lower mainland
- Liaising with customers to ensure they will be available onsite to receive shipments;
- Ensuring that all products on an order are delivered with an acknowledgement by the customer where possible. Any back orders are to be cleared marked.
- Loading and unloading pallets of doors, moulding and lumber to and from truck beds. (Forklifting is required; training provided onsite if necessary). Shipper will develop the knowledge of how much different products weigh to ensure trucks are loaded safely.
- Perform regular weekly checks of the stock level of lumber, moulding and construction hardware, and provide such information to the manager responsible for ordering. As the employee becomes more experienced, we would expect the re-orders to be done directly.
- Receiving doors from suppliers; this involves (i) connecting received doors to a specific PO, and then to a corresponding sales order, (ii) tagging the door(s) with the sales order number, and (iii) placing doors in storage until they are ready for hanging.

It is expected that the Shipper / Receiver / Inventory control team member will show a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, be dependable, detail orientated, have good problem solving skills, and be able to clearly communicate with co-workers, vendors and customers (verbal and written).

Forklift experience/license and strong knowledge of the lower mainland would be an asset.
