Hiring Hydrovac Operator Trainee
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Hydrovac excavation is a non-destructive alternative to mechanical equipment or hand-digging, using pressurized water and a vacuum system to quickly, safely, precisely and cleanly excavate around utilities and pipelines. Training will be provided for people with a desire to succeed.
Specific Duties
- Day-lighting and soft excavating for telecom, hydro, gas, and underground services
- Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, CVOR guidelines and acting in a safe manner at all times
- Perform pre and post trip inspections by following company policies and procedure for routine maintenance, perform general housekeeping to ensure Hydro Vac is clean and operating properly
- Complete all required paperwork daily
- Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures by Hydrovac operation
- Handle and distribute construction materials, loading and unloading vehicles with supplies, equipment, remove all debris from work sites
- Other duties as required
**Qualifications**:
- A Class 5 driver's license is the minimum requirement needed
- Must possess and exhibit strong safety acumen and demonstrate safe work practices
- Previous experience an asset
- Mechanical inclination an asset
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Operate Hydrovac equipment in a safe and professional manner
- Able to effectively and professionally communicate with on-site customer representatives
Essential Physical Functions
- Hear and distinguish emergency signals and instructions while on duty
- Must be able to repetitively sit, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach and crawl
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 25 pounds
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements (rain, snow, heat) for extended periods of time
- Be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Must be capable of working extended hours and variable shifts
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
**Salary**: From $21.92 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay
