The Research Student will provide non-technical assistance to research projects, clinical research studies and investigator initiated or industry sponsored trials. The Research Student will work under the supervision of the Co-Critical Care Research Coordinator, Physician Co-Leads of Critical Care Research and the Manager of Research. The day-to-day activities of the Research Student will be determined by the Research Coordinator. The Research Student will work collaboratively as a member of the research team to complete data entry and validation as well as other activities appropriate to the Research Student's skills and experience.
Under clear direction, and guidance, typical duties may include: data entry, developing study-specific data entry manuals, developing and/or maintaining study databases, updating study trackers, responding to queries from Research Visitors about data entry, filing study materials, keeping printed study materials stocked, other duties determined appropriate by the Research Coordinator.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in the field of medicine, public health, health sciences or related field.
- Experience in research, with knowledge of research procedures and regulations an asset.
- Knowledge of medical and scientific terminology an asset.
- Completion of research training including TCPS 2, Division 5 Training and Good Clinical Practices an asset.
- Enthusiasm for advancing science in the field of healthcare.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new situations.
- Proven ability of ensuring confidentiality of information.
- Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload often with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
- Excellent written communication, proofreading and editing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Superior organizational and problem solving skills.
- Flexible, self-directed and able to prioritize and work effectively and independently.
- Consistent and regular attendance required, with a flexible schedule an asset.
Proficiency in REDCap an asset.
- Ability to manage databases related to research projects.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
