**Job Title: Outdoor Plant Labourer - Botanist Hand**

We will begin propagating **house plants starting July 2025**, and experience in this area will be considered a strong asset.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with **planting, potting, watering**, and **maintaining hot pepper, tomato, and seasonal outdoor plants**.
- Monitor and adjust **outdoor environmental factors** including soil condition, irrigation, and sun exposure.
- Perform general **physical labour**, including lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs), setting up work areas, and moving large plant containers or bags of soil.
- Identify and report **plant health concerns**, such as pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
- Assist with **outdoor sales setup**, display maintenance, and customer interactions during pop-up events or markets.
- Help maintain the **cleanliness and organization** of the growing area and workspaces.
- Collaborate with the team to complete **daily tasks and seasonal planting projects**.

**Requirements**:

- Experience with plant care or a strong interest in **outdoor gardening/farming**.
- Comfortable working **outdoors in various weather conditions**.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving **up to 50 lbs** regularly.
- Able to work independently and follow instructions.
- Familiar with **basic tools**, soil handling, and irrigation practices.
- Dependable, punctual, and a positive team player.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with **outdoor cultivation**, nursery work, or garden centre environments.
- Familiarity with **vegetable plant cycles**, especially peppers and tomatoes.
- Understanding of **seasonal planting**, pest control, or basic composting practices.
- Interest or experience in **house plant propagation** (future potential).

**Position Details**:

- **Part-time**: Approximately 5 hours/day, **6 days/week**.
- Work will be **outdoors** at our primary location in Brantford, with some occasional off-site work for sales/events.
