Managing the daily operations of the centre in compliance with the policies and regulations of the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Must have accurate knowledge of all allergies and food intolerances of children and staff
- Providing ongoing supervision of playroom, playground, group, individual and routine activities
- Maintaining a safe and healthy environment by performing periodic safety checks of equipment, facilities and identifies children who are unwell
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with parents through open communication by daily written charts, daily interactions, formal parent interviews and parent information sessions
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director
- Maintaining a high standard of a safe, healthy, and caring environment for the children and staff
- Ensuring Emergent curriculum implementation and program delivery
- Maintaining a very clean and tidy environment when active play is not engaged
- Above average ability to work independently, multi-task, time management, and organizational skills ‪
- Anticipating, responsive and responsible to address issues and concerns at work ‪
- Flexible, patient, professional, prompt and reliable attendance at work ‪
- Creative, enthusiastic, neat and appropriate personal appearance and attire

Requirements and Skills
- Minimum of 1 year working in a licensed child care setting or equivalent is preferred
- Strong relationship development skills with the ability to build and maintain good rapport with families and the community
- Sound judgment and decision making skills with the ability to effectively administer/reinforce policies as appropriate
- Problem solving skills with the ability to analyze and diagnose issues and reach solutions with limited assistance
- Proficient in the English language with speaking, reading and writing Ability to work in stressful situations and adapt quickly to changing environment.

**Salary**: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour inclusive of the Wage Enhancement Grant.

Benefits: 2 weeks of annual vacation, paid sick days, additional paid days off during Christmas break, extended health benefits after 3 months.
