**What you’ll do**:
As a Sales Trainee, you will work closely with designated mentors (i.e., respective Department Heads, Managers and Subject Matter Experts, including VP & General Manager), the Sales Trainee will successfully complete a comprehensive 6-month training program in Mississauga/GTA consisting of one-on-one and on-the-job training sessions whereby the following outcomes are expected at the completion of the program:
- Learning and understanding day-to-day contacts, procedures, and processes
- Learning and developing a sound understanding of all safety issues surrounding our products, policies and general working environment
- Linde organizational awareness and partnership with the business
This is an excellent and rewarding opportunity for an individual wanting to start their sales career in the industrial gases/welding industry. Individuals who thrive on taking personal accountability for achieving results will find this a very challenging and greatly rewarding opportunity.
Testing for comprehension and understanding will take place throughout and at the completion of the program. Upon the successful completion of the training program, the Sales Trainee may be assigned a sales territory or take on a specialized sales role in which the following accountabilities and performance criteria will be expected:
- Identifying and attracting new customers by introducing new products and technologies while maintaining existing relationships in an effort to increase Linde sales and exceed customer expectations
- Winning, retaining, and growing all profitable managed customer accounts between $5K and $100K to contribute to the achievement of the sales, service, and profit targets for a specified sales area.
- Supporting and delivering winning sales strategies.
- Working collaboratively with the specialty/technical sales, retail, and other support functions to deliver on targets.
- Contributing to the overall performance of the region as a member of the regional retail and sales team.
**What it takes**:
- College or University Degree preferably in Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering (any discipline), Metallurgy, Welding, or specialized training in a field such as sales or customer service or equivalent experience
- Strong interpersonal, sales and negotiation skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to travel and/or relocate after completion of training program is a must
