Logistics Manager

General Accountability
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Logistics Manager is responsible for maintaining the flow of both raw and finished products from order to delivery or receiving. Oversee cycle counting and assist with annual inventory counts. Oversee the Order desk supervisor to develop routes that capitalize on fuel economy and driver efficiency. The Logistics Manager will also work closely with the management team to ensure plant inventories and efficiencies are maintained or improved to achieve optimal levels. The Logistics Manager will co-lead the Health and Safety team.
**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Set weekly schedules for ALL Shipping and Driving staff
- Field calls and conversations with staff. This includes employee one on one’s, KPI reporting and scheduling employee’s work.
- Follow and train all staff on GMP’s and SOP’s
- Maintain and improve the Health and Safety program
- Help organize logistics of ALL weekly orders and delegates daily picking tasks
- Help organize daily routes and pickups for each driver
- Works with Drivers to change routes based on seasonal changes
- Organize daily wrapping and movement of product in freezer, to ensure freezer warehouse is well organized so that while picking FIFO is performed to minimize aging product
- Investigating inventory discrepancies ensure a highly accurate inventory is always maintained
- Ensure all required daily and weekly paperwork is completed; forklift checks, daily driver sheets, incoming and outgoing details, reconciliation, relabeling tracking, cycle counting
- Track ALL relabeling, damages, and aging/high-stock inventory, and report to CEO weekly or monthly as needed
- Oversee the receiving of raw ingredients and approval all goods are received to standard
- Oversee the loading of trucks and that orders are properly scanned and shipped out of the building
- Oversee daily and weekly cleaning of the loading docks, cool room, freezer warehouse, and equipment, as well as include deep cleans every three months
- Organize regular maintenance on lift equipment and trucks as required, and arrange repairs and alternative options based on urgent issues that arise
- Coordinate return of damaged product and ensure timely review from Quality Manager
- Work with Operations Manager and Planning Team to ensure production plans fit our freezer space, and work with Warehouse Supervisor to make changes to space as needed
- Oversee waste management tote pump out, organize cleaning totes with QC
- Assist when needed in the staging of materials, picking orders, or loading trucks
- Other duties as required.

**Health and Safety Accountabilities**:

- Must follow the health and safety guidelines established
- Acts as the Fire Marshall for the Logistics Team, takes attendance daily and is aware of who is in attendance

**Skill and Attributes**:

- Computer knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Mathematical knowledge

**Qualifications, Education, Experience**:

- Lift Truck certification
- Previous Management experience as asset
- Good knowledge of logistics

**Working Conditions**:
**Physical Effort**: Work activities require intermediate periods of moderate physical effort such as standing or sitting in one place or in a constrained physical position. Activities typically require a variety of muscle movements with frequent requirement for speed and coordination with medium weightlifting.
**Physical Environment**: Work environment has only occasional exposure to mild unpleasant or disagreeable conditions, cold environment, with remote possibility of accident or health hazards.
**Sensory Attention**: Work activities involve frequent need to concentrate for lengthy durations and require diligence and attention to interpret information effectively. The need for detailed or precise work is high.
**Mental Stress**: Occasional exposure to one or more mental pressures, though the mental stress would not be noticeably disruptive. Work is repetitious and related unpleasant stress reaction is not typically strong.
