Position Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Research Operations, provides expert advice on research management to all stakeholders. Handles post-award administration of both internal and external grants and contracts held by University of Ottawa researchers and delivery of uOttawa’s investigator-driven internal granting program portfolio, to ensure the highest standard of service excellence and accountability in managing University research.

**In this role you will**:
Undertake post-award administration of grants and contracts held by University of Ottawa researchers, including opening of accounts, compliance verification, and fund transfers.

Act as liaison between granting councils, faculty/institute administrators, and researchers, provide expert advice and ensure the highest standard of service excellence and accountability in managing research at uOttawa.

Manage the delivery of the uOttawa’s internal granting program portfolio.

Participate in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures related to pre
- and post-award management of grants and contracts.

Develop and deliver workshops and information sessions on research management practices to educate and inform the research community of changes in processes, grant funding programs, and regulations.

**What you will bring**:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years’ relevant experience in a university, research administration or research environment.

Excellent knowledge of and ability to explain research administration, grant program management and research contracting principles and methods.

Proven ability to achieve objectives in an evolving, complex policy and procedure framework.

Excellent comprehension and critical analysis skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work in a high volume environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
