Responsibilities:

- Provide direct support and care to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies and support individuals in developing independent living skills
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and any incidents or observations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, social workers, and other support staff
- Respect and uphold resident rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to transport residents as needed, valid first aid certificate presented within a month and a clean criminal record check for the vulnerable persons sector.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a similar caregiving role preferred.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies would be an asset.
- Ability to lift and assist with transfers as necessary
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to providing quality care to individuals with disabilities. To be successful in this position, you will need to be energetic, a good listener and in good physical and mental health. You should be patient and have good problem solving skills. We like to joke around and have fun so someone with a good sense of humor would be very much appreciated. Also, there are pets on the premises so if you have fears or allergies, this position will probably not be suitable for you.

Note: This position is for shift work, you will need to be able to work days, afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. overnights have the potential to be reduced but you would still have to do some when required. We are a 24/7, 365 days a year workplace. The shift however does allow staff to have every alternate weekend off. We will not be hiring anyone that is just looking for days, or evenings or weekdays etc. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. **Salary**: From $22.00 per hour
