- Co-ordinate and initiate purchases which include but are not limited to supplies, parts, and capital equipment following correct procurement procedures.
- Coordinate replacement and/or repair of damaged or broken tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Receive, store and dispense consumable items in consultation with the shipping department.
- Ensure tools and shop equipment are maintained in serviceable condition.
- Understand, maintain and work with program safety related initiatives such as: OH&S Equipment Safeguards, TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) requirements.
- Ensure shops and equipment meet all safety regulations and compliance
- Perform repairs, modifications, installations and fabrication of program tooling, and equipment.
- Assist in the fabrication, movement, teardown of teaching aids, instructional materials and equipment as required.
- Repair/notify pertinent department(s) as required with regards to rectifying safety concerns identified on monthly shop inspection checklists.
- Support is also provided for Continuing Education Outreach and other campus sites.

- Certificate in a mechanical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures, operations and controls, and inventory control.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift certification is a condition of employment. (Certification may be obtained as a condition of employment).
