**What is the Opportunity?**
- Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension - Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools and other key destinations throughout the city.
- As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in Scarborough, Aecon is looking for a qualified Assistant Project Manager to join our team.
**What You'll Do Here**:
- Assist in establishing and maintaining project budget.
- Enforce change procedures.
- Assist in establishing schedule and staffing plans.
- Ensure all project reporting is accurate and timely.
- Oversee testing, quality, and safety.
- Manage client and vendor relationships.
- Ensure project risks and issues are logged and managed.
- Ensure all project close-out activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen to protect profits and improve margins.
- Business development, including participation in costing and estimating activities and risk analysis.
- Financial forecasting and contributing to creation of revenue targets.
- Oversee procurement, including materials and subcontractors.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
**What You Bring to The Team**:
- Post secondary education in engineering, construction management or equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the rail industry is preferred.
- General knowledge of non-residential construction methods, building systems, and terminology.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) is essential, experience in using estimating software is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Skilled at building positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Good listening and communication skills.
